Daniel Ricciardo is once again having a disappointing season at McLaren. With only seventeen points, he is currently doing much less than Lando Norris who has 47 points more. Nevertheless he remains confident of a good outcome.
The Australian, who was a teammate of Max Verstappen at Red Bull Racing, made the move to McLaren in early 2021 to compete among the top teams in the future. However, Norris immediately proved to be in better shape and kept Ricciardo far behind last calendar year.
This season he hoped to do things differently, but nothing was further from the truth. Once again it is Norris who is performing more consistently and therefore, for now, has little to worry about competition from his teammate. Ricciardo, however, knows better than anyone that things can improve quickly and is working hard behind the scenes.
"I’m just being real – there hasn’t been any strong signs [of a win] so far this year," Ricciardo told Express. "But I don’t think anyone would have predicted me winning a race last year. That made it a really beautiful thing because it reminded me that anything is possible, especially in this sport."
