The last driver to win it in a direct duel for the championship from Lewis Hamilton was Nico Rosberg in 2016. The two were teammates at Mercedes at the time. Therefore, the German driver knows better than anyone how Verstappen should beat the Brit.
In an interview with RedaktionsNetzwerk Deutschland (RND) Rosberg looks ahead to the denouement of the world championship. The former Formula 1 driver thinks Hamilton has the best chance thanks to his experience. "On emotion, I say, Lewis," said Rosberg who indicates that the mental aspect is essential in a championship duel.
For Verstappen, it is in fact the first time he has a chance to win the title. "It's certainly not easy for Max, because it's the first time he's been in a situation like this. And then against the most successful Formula 1 driver of all time. In that respect, he already deserves the greatest recognition."
Despite the lack of experience in competing for a championship, Verstappen does have a chance at the title. Rosberg advises Verstappen how to proceed. "You have to take advantage of Lewis' weak moments. When he loses his motivation and his head. Then it's full-on attack!" With two races to go, Verstappen is eight points ahead of Hamilton.
Max in the same car as Rosberg would beat him like he beats Checo. Max has extracted the maximum from the car close to as flawless a season you will ever see but has had close to no good fortune. Lulu's Merc has been the better car for almost all the season and at times has had a massive car advantage at times, plus all the good fortune has gone his way. Lulu been very mistake prone as well. If Max made as many mistakes as Lulu he'd be 100 points plus behind right now.
Title or no title, max is recognized by most f1 drivers n ex f1 drivers as the best on the grid
Max has done outstanding, I don't believe deserves the biggest recognition though. His potential was always hampered by RBR failure to provide a championship car. The fact that it's happened now and for solice..'better late than never I've always complained that he should move on and even if he does go all the way it should be on the top of his agenda. His had my full support till Brazil happened and maybe that race was his undoing
Lots of pro and negative Lewis and Max comments here. Personally, I just hope for exciting and competitive racing in the next two races. Both are strong and neither will crack. It really comes down to how the respective cars perform on the two tracks. I think this weekend, Mercedes will more likely have the upper hand. But it really is debatable which car will be stronger in the season ending race.
I was working on my farm on a sunny afternoon when I saw something in the sky. It was my idol FRAUDmilton flapping his wings towards me screaming "MY TIRES, MY TIRES" To protect me and my crops, I asked Verstappen for help, which scared FRAUDmilton and he flew away. Thanks Max!!
What a great advice like max didn't knew it already when to attack or not
"And then against the most successful Formula 1 driver of all time. In that respect, he already deserves the greatest recognition." Max will always be defined by Lewis, thats just funny Redbull fans .
There's no measure for the best driver, but there is a measure for the most successful driver ... Thats so simple I thought you would have got it ...guess not ay
As the brat who showed Hamilton is not a GOAT ... just merely a occupant in a dominant car. Craving for respect of his fellow drivers in the grid ... who in fact Pray he makes another stupid mistake.. The name Shamelton is already spot on after the race where he forgot to steer into the corner... it keeps me laugh every time.I wish i could place a top view of it here. All driving around the corner...only Shamelton going straight... hahahaha.
Babbling again mate, Max will be in the shadow of the most successful F1 driver, thats always gonna be the case mate .Babbling on you go .....
And in your mind .. how many are under that "shadow"? For someone in someone's shadow... he drives more rounds in front of the "shadow caster"... that is not a good sign... or is it?
Remember forever in the shadow of the most successful F1 driver . Yip six seasons of driving circles i agree with you on that.
