Carlos Sainz impressed with his fastest time in the second free practice in Monza. The Spanish driver was almost one and a half tenths faster than
Max Verstappen and left the track feeling satisfied.
The
Italian Grand Prix put a lot of pressure on
Ferrari's performance. The Italians could look back on a positive day with both
Charles Leclerc and Sainz. As a result, Sainz feels that a lot is possible at the weekend, he told
Sky Sports."Overall it has been a positive day. We still need to check all the data, but I felt quite comfortable in the car and the package this weekend seems to be working well," recalled Sainz, who still sees improvements. "There is still work to do to try and improve the pace on the long runs."
Sainz focuses on details with Ferrari
In other areas, however, Sainz sees that
Ferrari are very strong in Italy. The driver says he will look at all the details with his team to come back strong on Saturday, after which he hopes he can do well in the race.
