Max Verstappen says he currently sees no reason to leave Red Bull Racing early. He does stress that this is true as long as the Austrian Formula 1 team continues to provide him with the fastest car.
Verstappen previously indicated that "something really crazy" would have to happen if he wanted to leave Red Bull early. Meanwhile, a lot has been happening within his team, the most recent being the announced departure of Adrian Newey. In Miami, Verstappen was asked if that was "crazy enough" to make him decide to leave Red Bull.
"Well, at the end of the day, these kinds of decisions are not made very easily, and I'm very happy with where I am," Verstappen stressed. However, he does express a clear requirement to stay with the F1 team: "I want to be in the fastest car, that's what I always said to the team. That's what we have at the moment, and that's what we can have also next year."
Asked if he would fancy going to another team and then taking it to the level Red Bull has now, the Dutchman replied: "I don't necessarily have a desire to suddenly build up something new or whatever. Why would you want to leave when you're already in the best position and you think you can continue that for a long time?"

Honestly you Max lovers are just getting ridiculous. NONE of you can handle criticism of Max without insulting or mocking the person dishing it out. You're pathetic that way. And if there is a sadness to it, it's that. The attitude of the collective RB fanbase who have turned F1 rivalry into something tribal. Admittedly the Internet has helped that along, but at it's core the Max fanbase is rotten. Very few Max fans can take on board criticism and debate it reasonably. And this guy I'm replying to is a prime example. So is J41L for that matter, for as much as you think he's 'not like that'. Yeah he is. Just another Max fan who cannot handle criticism. Cannot take it on board or offer a decent counterpoint. Although I found some (not all) of Still_Roy and Adrie_63's points to be weak and off the point, at LEAST they have a go to reply with something that relative to the trolls, can be considered worth reading. Don't come to me with crap about what you think of me, or how hurt or obsessed you think I am. I don't care! You're a troll and therefore your opinion means less than my last fart. Understand that. Pathetic mocking that are a disguise for your hope that I'll stop criticising Max. Because that's all you want from me isn't it? You don't care about anything else. What I say makes an impact which is why it triggers you. Because I'm not some dumb troll just being a troll. I do know how to make a point and I know how to write it well. And someone who does possess a modicum of intelligence, criticising Max or Red Bull, isn't just doing it to troll and that really burns you all doesn't it? Well tough. Learn to how counter-argue or get off the ride. Your trolling of me is meaningless and if anything spurs me on even more.
What about Helmut Marko? Wasn't his continued presence supposed to be a condition?
I’ve been saying this for months now and yet, some wishful thinking around here that he’s leaving the toxic environment NOW?
There is no problem with that...Anyway, this answer is a big problem for those fans who said that Max has always won in slow cars..... If he has stayed with RBR he did it because RBR has given the best equipment...
True that. Why would any driver leave where he feels comfortable at, and with the fastest car. Lewis did the same. Shumi did it as well. No driver has ever left a team when that team was dominating the sport. That is just stupid/suicide. I am not sure what the problem or issue is regarding that?
Max being blunt and honest vs Lewis whose ego could never admit he had the fastest or most dominate car, it was always him
Max has also stated, twice now, that he has no desire to race against other drivers. He wants to win by 20s at least and just not have to race anyone because 'I've done enough of that in my career'. Words of a 'true champion' there eh? Wanting easy wins. Imagine Senna or Hamilton saying something like that. They wouldn't, because they're true racers. It's because of this, that I knew Max would never leave Red Bull. No way will he want to be in a car where he has to pit himself against others to win. He knows it will show the world that he's not as great as people think.
Max is correct, the requirements are Redbull give him a fast car or he leaves. Thats fair ?, we have seen many drivers that have done the same and been successful: Michael Schumacher (Benetton and Ferarri) Jackie Stewart (Matra and Tyrell) Graham Hill (Lotus and BRM) Alain Prost (Williams and McLaren) Nelson Piquet (Williams and Brabham) Emerson Fittipaldi (McLaren and Lotus) Niki Lauda (McLaren and Ferarri) Jack Brabham (Brabham and Cooper) Juan Manuel Fangio (Alfa Romeo, Maserati, Ferarri, Mercedes)
Sorry Vegan, but how do you mean 'correct'? Was there a wrong answer to give? A top driver should only require a car that can compete for wins. Max wants one where he doesn't have to race others - he has said as much.
@44-7xLegend, well I didn't see those comments . Did Max say that he wants the fastest car so he doesn't have to engage in wheel to wheel racing ?. I don't belive he would actually want that 44-7xLegend.
Here you go... https://www.planetf1.com/news/max-verstappen-prefers-20-second-f1-wins-over-wheel-to-wheel If I can find an article on the first time has said this a year or so ago, I'll get you that one also.
It is bizarre, for a driver to have that sort of mentality. It will be intresting to see how the racing changes when teams catch up or the Redbull drops off in performance. But its bizarre that driver doesn't want to have those on track battles, I mean perfection is great and maybe that's what drivers Max but well it's not so great for us fans watching lol.
No apologies necessary mate. When you said Max was 'correct' I thought you were referring to this quote from him. Seems you weren't. As for other drivers, not to my knowledge. In all my time watching F1, I've never heard any driver say something like that. The impression I get from this is that Max seeks perfection every time - nothing wrong with that, it's an approach I agree with. But he wants to have that by being up front and creating that on his own, rather than racing his rivals and risk not being perfect. And that he's says he's race so much close combat (Hmmm) that it seems he doesn't want to do that any more. I find that quite bizarre considering he's in F1.
Is this section the article 44-7xLegend: Asked whether he prefers to come out on top of a tense to-the-chequered-flag duel with an equally-matched rival, or simply to crush all before him with wins of 20-second advantages, Verstappen smiled. “At least 20 seconds!” he said. “That’s for me… I’ve raced so much in my life in close combat. I enjoy a lot more if we can actually nail the car and are 100 percent sure that we can win by a big margin but, of course, that’s not what fans want to hear but I am honest, you know? “I’m here to win and I’m here to create my own success.” Okay you're right, I apologize. He actually did say that. Have any other drivers said that they prefer to win this way?
Nothing wrong for a top driver wanting to stay/join the best team, it's pretty obvious. Senna did it, Prost did, VET did it and lastly HAM did. Likewise, top teams have lost drivers because they didn't perform well anymore. I don't see why it should be different with VER/RB. What is this article trying to say or perhaps to provoke?
There is a difference as I have already posted on this thread. I don't see how you determine the article as 'provocation' after you've said there was nothing wrong with it. Max is done racing others now. He wants a car that can sail off into the distance now. He has said this. Which is why I believe that the moment he no longer has this and can't get it, he'll leave the sport. I don't believe Max will tolerate not winning any more in his career. He wants the easy life instead of having to earn his wins (something which started in AD'21).
Max has said meany times about stay at rbr .and lot of storys were coming out abiut max going to merc .and that the tp was going pay lot for max go to merc .and max stated about keeping key staff and having a compative car
It's about clear that MB isn't as attractive as they were in the past. 4th in championship, this should hurt every ambitious TP. There's no way right now a top driver will be willing to join MB. Perhaps they will do better next year or/and 2026, and a driver will be able to take the risk for gambling reasons or because he has no better option. But right now, VER has a way better option and I struggle to believe that Wolff was seriously thinking VER would let go RB to join MB. I don't think he's naive to that point. Therefore there has to be other reasons he kept trying imho. What those reasons might be, only Wolff knows.
Wolff try to distract things off him how bad the tewm is with driver leaving staff lewvinf?
