Max Verstappen is not satisfied with his performance at the Hungarian Grand Prix. But despite the bad luck of the past two Grands Prix he says that 'nothing is lost'.
"Yes, he did very well," says Verstappen about the defensive action of Fernando Alonso on Lewis Hamilton for the camera of Ziggo Sport. Because the Spaniard kept Hamilton behind him, the Briton could not attack for the win.
Verstappen was not pleased with Bottas' action. "It's just Bottas's fault, that's why I'm also taken out. It just sucks enormously that you have so much bad luck two races in a row. I had so much damage, it was impossible to do anymore. I couldn't do anything. Couldn't brake into the corner, wheels blocked, understeer, oversteer," Verstappen continued.
"It's always better to try and take that point yes. You always try to make the best of it. If you still have a whole car, you can still fight your way to the front. But this was extremely difficult. The start was fine, there was nothing wrong with that," said the Red Bull Racing driver.
"I would have preferred to go into the holiday in a different way, of course. But nothing is lost, so we keep on attacking."
Hungarians Just displayed infront of the world what they were trying so hard to pretend didn't exist. "Say no to racism"
Cmon guys, Alonso wasn't defensive driving , he was shit driving....and lewis still came in second place when every team was trying to make him lose. Congratulations Lewis, most of us can relate to you, and most of us know why it is happening. Europe Will Never Change .
Lewis hamilton doesn't do anything to Max in the Hungarian race n Max thanks Alonso for defending agains Lewis but still Lewis gets the better of both of them n came in third, Max is a sore loser whinning
If you see this as winning you must open your eyes or go back to school. He is grateful to see Alonso doing such a great job with a much slower car than Hamilton. Much slower overall and also much slower because of his Tyre benefit. Hamilton at one stage were catching them at 3.7s a lap and couldn't pass Alonso. I enjoyed the racing mentality of Alonso. Or maybe I am whinning also. Ha Ha.
Alonso wasn't much slower when he was catching Lewis and Sanz by over 2 secs a lap.. and he couldn't pass Sainz with a similar difference as he and Lewis had... Where is your respect for Mick Schumacher who keep Hamilton and Verstappen behind for ages.... In the worse car of the field.... That just goes to show regardless of car or tyres it was a tough track to pass on.. If the car Infront has decent tyres.. Alonso had the next best tyres to Hamilton hence he put up a good fight...
Max is such a narcissist. Dies he thinks Alonso did all that losing defensive work against Hamilton for his benefit? LOL
Maybe you should see the bigger picture. Obviously he did not have Max in his head when he defended but Ocon perhaps. And himself. But it's still nice to see Hamilton doesn't have it all his way.
Such a winners mentality. Never gets down in the dumps like the nagger that always nags.
Alonso held up Lewis so he couldn't push for 1st, that is a 10 point difference in the Driver's points.
That was an indirect 'give me a seat' to RBR from 40 yr old Alo.
Alonso played for his team not for Max.Even if Hamilton had passed Alonso quick the victory seems impossible..
Wrong. If Hamilton had passed Alonso quickly he would have caught Vettel and Ocon about 5 laps before the end and easily overtaken them. Alonso had better tires than them and they were over 3 seconds per lap slower than Lewis. Couldn`t defend nearly as well as Alonso.
If Hamilton went past Alonso the first lap he would have won the race. So well done to Alonso for keeping the @ssh&R@ behind for as long as possible. Had nothing against Hamilton before but always bringing Racial R&@ into the sport I don't like him. As much as this black lives matter thing is bring into sport it will divide people more than bring people together. The other people wearing we race as one T-shirts is the way to go.But to always wanting to go the extra mile and make it one race only. That's where the world is missing the plot. All is equal.
Really hard luck for max today he looked great at the start
It was gearing up (no pun intended) to be a great race. A shame so many good drivers were taken out.
Well done Alonso for getting yourself in that Max fan action...very smart...
It was great watching him battle with Lewis. Eyes on stalks each time they came round the last corner until after turn 4. Well played by both. Highlight of the race I think along with the Ocon/Vettel lights to flag run.
I'm not Verstappen's biggest fan, but I have to admitt that his performance on the track and the fighting spirit is really impressive. And it's really nice of him to show gratitude to Alonso.
Amazing effort Max given the damage you had to deal with. If Lulu had that much trouble with Alonso no wonder taking you out was the only option.
Lewis didn't take out Max. What on Earth are you babbling about?
