Ralf Schumacher disagrees with the decision of the FIA. According to Schumacher the overtaking action of Max Verstappen on Lewis Hamilton was 'within the rules' and he should have won the race.
For Schumacher, Hamilton was the big surprise in Bahrain. "Although Max Verstappen was faster, it was Lewis' clever strategy and driving skills that ultimately made the difference - along with the FIA's momentous decision", the six-time race winner said in his column on Sky Sport Deutschland.
Unlike many of his colleagues, Schumacher does not agree with the FIA's decision to ask Verstappen to give the spot back. "I still consider his off-track overtaking manoeuvre in Turn 4 to be fair and within the rules", Schumacher continued.
According to the German, Verstappen could not do much else as he was pushed to the outside by Hamilton. "If Verstappen wants to avoid a collision, he has no choice but to dodge. I don't think there is an advantage for Verstappen."
Completely out of reality. Hammilton won because he cheated curve 4 29 times and blamed Verstappen that he did it 1 time even forced by Hamilton because Verstappen already was in front of him. So please switch on your brains before the start of thinking and typing.
ah the spare that no one ever really wanted to hear from, ever. a bit like harry prince of ... well; los angeles or montecito now i suppose.
"Although Max Verstappen was faster, it was Lewis' clever strategy and driving skills that ultimately made the difference - along with the FIA's momentous decision" Ralf you are the "confusing" spectators, Max was faster & and Lewis with ultimate driving skills. There are not 2 winners at the end of a race.
MAx was faster as he had the faster car, but Lewis being a tyre pro now managed to keep a faster car, on 10 lap NEWER tyres behind him. Thats the skill.
Awful RedBull strategy and managment. Or you (promptly) complain and ask for penalty to LH, or you (promptly) understand the gain and do the same. RB asked to give back position way before race direction asked them to do. As the "smart" Ross Brawn did in 1998, first you pass the finish line, then You discuss about what happened.
Hamilton forced him wide going into the corner. Vestappen new the risk but went for it. Immediately after he was forces to give the position back he had dirt and pickup on his tyres with not enough laps to clean them up and attack again. Maybe Hamilton's used experience in forcing V around the outside side at that corner but I feel V won't fall for that again. Next time.......?
. "If Verstappen wants to avoid a collision, he has no choice but to dodge. I don't think there is an advantage for Verstappen." Verstappen could have hit the brakes.
It doesn't change anything. If Max can do this on a Mercedes track, the rest of the season will be great for all F1 fans.
Ralf... Ralf... Ralf... consider this... there wasn't any FIA's momentous decision... just Lewis strategy n skill... correct interpretation of the rules pre race....
