Mick Schumacher personally had a reasonable debut season in Formula 1, but results failed to materialize because last season's Haas F1 car was not competitive. In 2022, the talented German should find himself in more opportune positions more often, according to the plans of his American employer. Schumacher himself is positive a mere three weeks before the first winter tests.

Haas F1's car in 2021 was almost identical to the previous year's. Guenther Steiner 's team decided to go all out for 2022. This makes next season all the more important, because the stable cannot afford another year at the back. Schumacher himself hopes to race in the lower end of the middle range.

World Championship points the goal

"I think we would be happy if we can appear consistently in Q2 and then score points here and there. That's my personal goal, but also the goal we have as a team," Schumacher said in conversation with the German branch of Sky. Last season Schumacher only managed to reach Q2 twice. Mazepin flew out of all 22 Grands Prix in Q1. Points were not scored by Haas F1.

The new regulations introduced in Formula 1 this year give Haas F1 hope that it can take a reasonable step forward."All the teams are at zero. Maybe it can give us a small advantage because we started earlier." Furthermore, the 22-year-old driver says he is satisfied with the progress made so far.

First photos of the 2022 car available

The livery of Haas F1's 2022 car was presented last week. The livery of the VF-22 is for the most part similar to last year's car. Haas F1 has not yet shared the details of the new car so as not to make the competition any the wiser. All teams will reportedly do so by releasing only renders.
