For the time being, eight F1 races are planned for 2020, all in Europe. To reach the desired number of fifteen to eighteen races, Ross Brawn doesn't rule out a few more European rounds, possibly even with spectators
Earlier this week there was a strong rumour that the Grands Prix of Singapore, Azerbaijan and Japan are unlikely to go ahead this year and also the races in North and South America are in jeopardy. In order to fill the second half of the season Liberty Media is looking at European alternatives.
"There are a number of good European jobs to which we can add one or two more races to make sure we have an extended season. I think Bahrain and Abu Dhabi will be the end of the season. With that we already have ten races. We're going to find at least five or six more races in between," said Brawn to Formula1.com.

Racing with an audience in 2020 still on the agenda

One of the reasons why circuits like Baku and Singapore are dropping out is the fact that the organisers there need more time to prepare because of the construction of a street circuit. However, Brawn also wants to inform the permanent circuits as soon as possible, because then it might even be possible to drive with the public.
"We also need to announce it in time so that people can make plans. We hope that some races will have spectators in the second half of the season, so we need time for ticket sales and promotion".
