F1 LIVE | FP2: Dutch Grand Prix

Zandvoort circuit

The Zandvoort circuit is one of the most unique tracks on the F1 calendar. This is mainly down to the banked corners offering drivers a different challenge. It's quite a twisty track, with just one major straight. The layout is similar to the Hungarian Grand Prix won by Verstappen. Despite the forecast rain, the grandstands will be full of orange merchandise to support the local hero.

During FP2, drivers will push as hard as they can on low fuel to see where the car performs in the qualifying trim. During the second half, teams will add fuel to the car, and they can then measure how the car performs with weight on a longer run.

The season so far

Verstappen extended his lead in the World Championship last time out at the Belgian Grand Prix. With 25 points on Sunday, the Dutchman took his very healthy lead to 125 points. Sergio Perez secured much-needed points. Ferrari driver Carlos Sainz could not take any points during the race in Belgium. McLaren have been on a sudden increase in performance, with Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri making big jumps in the championship due to multiple podiums. It'll be interesting to see whether that will continue in The Netherlands.
