Rubens Barrichello has admitted that he puked with race after the 2002 Austria Grand Prix after the team told him to let Michael Schumacher pass to let the German win.

It's still considered as one of the biggest scandals in Formula One. Rubens Barrichello, who had only won one race in his career up until that point. Barrichello was told to let Schumacher past. As the two Ferrari's approached the final straight, Barrichello blatantly let his foot off the gas and Schumacher passed him as they crossed the line. They were both booed tremendously during the national anthems, even by their own fans. Barrichello was clearly conflicted by the urge to win against doing what his employer was telling him to do.

"On that day, I didn't go to the press conference after the award ceremony, because I was sick, I puked a lot that day - in rage," the Brazilian told TV Globo.

He was asked multiple times during the race to let Schumacher past but didn't obey until the last seconds of the race, which proves his inner struggle.

"I made the final turn and decided not to give up the place, but then I thought, 'I love what I do, what if they fire me?'

"They told me to do it twice."

Barrichello still doesn't want to say what he was saying on the team radio at the time. In 2003, the year after the incident, team radio was made public.

"If you had heard the radio at that time, then everyone would have been disgusted," he said.

"I have recorded this radio communication to publish it in a book one day."

That radio conversation has to be gold, and Barrichello knows it. What happened that day at Spielberg still disgusts people to this day. The team principal at the time, Jean Todt, is now the FIA president.
