The Miami Grand Prix gets underway this coming weekend. In the fifth race of the season, the stakes are high for a number of teams, as Chris Medland also knows. That includes Ferrari and Mercedes who each have something to make up for in the United States for a different reason.
Ferrari has had an excellent season start with two victories for Charles Leclerc. However, the world championship frontrunner failed to compete with Max Verstappen at the Imola GP.
The Italians therefore have something to set straight in Miami. It is a feeling Red Bull Racing had prior to the race in Imola. Hope of Mercedes remains alive
Mercedes, meanwhile, is working hard to improve its car. Among other things, the German racing stable is suffering from a lot of porpoising, which is causing Lewis Hamilton and George Russell to lose a lot of speed. "But all is not lost, as Trackside Engineering Director Andrew Shovlin has hinted Miami could be the venue where there are further upgrades introduced."
