Lewis Hamilton is still adapting to life at Ferrari, the Briton explained. As the seven-time world champion is learning more about the culture, he admitted his Italian skills are not the best yet.

"I don’t think there has been necessarily surprises," Hamilton began to GPblog and others in Bahrain.

He continued: "It’s amazing in Maranello. It’s amazing, the energy in the team. I’m enjoying going there almost every week — apart from these three back-to-back [weekends]. Getting to see more and more of the factory and the people, and understand more and more about the culture."

Hamilton is still struggling with this

However, there is one thing Hamilton is yet to master in Maranello. "My Italian’s still not great, I don’t know if it ever will be, but I’ll continue to try," he explained.

"When you go there, the surprising thing is just how big the place is and the quality of everything and the quality of work that everyone does. The carbon department, the engine department. Am I surprised of that? No, because you already see that in their road cars," he concluded.

While Hamilton and Ferrari managed to win the Sprint at the Chinese Grand Prix earlier this season, which was both the driver's and team's first victory in the event since its introduction back in the 2021 season, the rest of Grands Prix were not so great for the Scuderia.

Currently, the Italian team are only fourth in the constructors' standings behind McLaren, Mercedes and Red Bull Racing, they and yet to score a podium finish in 2025 other than the aforementioned Sprint victory by the seven-time world champion.

During the FP1 in Bahrain, the Briton finished in third position.
