Ricciardo backs Hamilton: 'No one should be injured that much'

At Mercedes, the bouncing of the car is currently causing a lot of headaches within the team. The bouncing was so extreme in Baku that Lewis Hamilton barely managed to get out of his car after the race. Everyone agreed that something had to change, but Mercedes would rather see the FIA regulations change.
Teams like Red Bull Racing and Haas knew how to find a solution to the car's bouncing very early in the season. Mercedes is still working to find a solution and for Hamilton that can't happen soon enough. In Baku the complaints were huge, fellow driver Daniel Ricciardo has had his say.
There must be a solution
In conversation with PA News Agency he sympathizes with the seven-time world champion. "If that is up to a rule change, or the way the teams are setting up the cars, I am not 100 per cent sure. But I wouldn’t like anyone to go through any unnecessary injury or pain." F1 teams are also still unclear as to why Mercedes is suffering so much more from porpoising.
The FIA has therefore started an investigation to see what they can do about it. The drivers are also actively working on this, including by talking to each other. "We have spoken about it throughout the season, but with Baku being such a big one, I am sure it will get discussed in the drivers’ briefing on Friday."
