Final starting grid | Ricciardo ahead of Perez, Ferrari defend Verstappen
With Lance Stroll having to start the Mexican Grand Prix from the pits, the final starting line-up looks slightly different to what was initially the case. Logan Sargeant, Yuki Tsunoda and Lando Norris move up a place.
Not only was it notable that Max Verstappen missed out on pole position and sees Ferrari start Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz from the front row, but also what happened behind them. Sergio Perez secured a fifth starting position, an improvement after a string of disappointing qualifying results.
However, the Red Bull Racing driver has to beat Daniel Ricciardo. The AlphaTauri driver qualified fourth and thus starts ahead of the local hero. Perez will have to fight off the attacks of Lewis Hamilton at the start, who is next to him on the third row of the grid.
