Who is favourite for the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix?

Everyone in the paddock seems to agree that Max Verstappen and Red Bull Racing start the 2024 F1 season as favourites. The Dutchman won 19 out of 22 Grands Prix last year, clinching his third world title. He also won the Bahrain Grand Prix by 22 seconds, and is seemingly unstoppable. However, Verstappen has previously struggled at some street circuits, and the high temperatures in Jeddah will test the cooling system on the RB20.

Behind Red Bull, the field seems to have moved closer together. McLaren, Ferrari, Mercedes all completed a solid week of testing and could find positives in the Bahrain Grand Prix. The differences between these teams seem small, although Ferrari drove the best times so far.

This year's Saudi Arabian Grand Prix will be held on Saturday due to the start of Ramadan. This moves the entire programme forward by one day. The Saudi Arabian Grand Prix is on Saturday, 9 March, at 17:00 UK time.
