No, sleeping in is no longer in the cards for Max Verstappen. The Red Bull Racing driver lives - as much as possible during the Formula 1 season - with Kelly Piquet and her daughter Penelope. In the Piquet household, the day always starts early in the morning and Verstappen joins that rhythm.

The three-time world champion speaks of an automatic alarm clock. "There'sno longer any question of me lying in bed until ten in the morning," he says in an interview with De Telegraaf. "If they are awake, I do wake up at some point and start my day. Sometimes to train with Rupert (performance coach, ed.), sometimes to sim race, then again for another appointment with Raymond [Vermeulen]."

Visit to Tokyo

But, Verstappen's life is not álly about racing. For Max is also a real family man. Kelly and Penelope attended the Grands Prix of Australia and Japan and in between there was also time to do fun things together. It is known that Verstappen and Penelope get along extremely well.

"We had made a nice schedule. From Melbourne we went skiing in Japan and after the race there we mainly visited Tokyo. I liked seeing a bit more of the city now, of different districts. We also went to the beach. Not to lie there, but to explore the neighbourhood a bit," Verstappen said.
