When there's a big story in Formula 1, you know it'll just keep rumbling for a few days. On Thursday, several sources reported that Newey wants to leave Red Bull Racing. On Friday, there were several reactions from key people, and the consequences were assessed. In addition, another piece of the jigsaw puzzle has been filled for 2025.

Hulkenberg signs for Audi

It is official: Nico Hulkenberg will drive for Stake F1 in the next Formula 1 season and will join Audi's works team in 2026. The announcement follows shortly after Haas announced that Hulkenberg will leave the US team after this year. Click here to see the full reaction from Hulkenberg

That means yet another piece to the jigsaw has been solved. But one big question mark looms. Who will get the second seat alongside Hulkenberg? Here's the latest picture of the grid for 2025 and the important questions left unanswered

Door opens for the next British F1 star

Oliver Bearman is an 18-year-old Formula 2 driver for Prema. The young Brit is a Ferrari academy driver and won four races in his first year in F2 in 2023. He secured a stunning sprint and feature race victory in Baku and is still a firm favourite for the title this year. He will also be taking part in six FP1 sessions for Haas this season, who have a close technical relationship with his parent team, Ferrari. Joining Haas will allow Bearman to gain experience in the sport in a familiar environment. GPblog assessed the consequences for Bearman.

Shockwaves from Newey

Formula One commentator Olav Mol suspects that retirement could be the most logical option for Adrian Newey should he decide to leave Red Bull Racing. This is because the top designer's contract may not allow him to join a rival team before 2027. Therefore, the Dutchman doesn't expect to see Newey join forces with Hamilton at Ferrari.

According to FormulaPassion.it, negotiations are set to be already "at an advanced stage" between Newey and Ferrari. Negotiations are said to be so advanced that potential contractual terms are already being discussed, as well as the mandatory 'gardening leave' in case of an early departure from Red Bull. The 65-year-old Briton's contract at the Austrian racing team still runs until the end of 2025, so it could be some time before he can start working elsewhere.

Ultimately, everything hinges on the quality of the people you have in place. Christian Horner argues that no one is bigger than the team, but could draw a valuable lesson from rulers that have collapsed before such as Ferrari and Manchester United.
