Horner reacts after qualifying: 'Good performance despite difficult conditions

4 May - 22:52

Red Bull Racing team boss Christian Horner saw his team enjoy a good qualifying session for the Miami Grand Prix. Max Verstappen took pole position and Sergio Perez will start from P4 on Sunday.

Although Verstappen and Perez performed well, Horner did stress that the conditions were difficult. "I think the wind, the temperature, and the tyres are all very sensitive around here, and we did just enough to get the pole, and P4 for Checo, second row, again it’s a good result," said the British team boss in front of the Viaplay microphone after qualifying.

Good feeling after sprint race

Horner looks forward to the Grand Prix on Sunday with a good feeling. He refers to the performance in the sprint race, which was completed prior to qualifying. "Well, it gives us a 19-lap window into what the tyres are going to do tomorrow, and the car was behaving reasonably well. I think, hopefully, we've improved it with the setup changes that we've been allowed to make, so we'll see," Horner concluded.
