Verstappen understands Zak Brown: 'He's just poking around'
Zak Brown and Toto Wolff have set their sights on Red Bull Racing and are taking every opportunity to say something about the team and Christian Horner. Max Verstappen understands why the two are stoking but is not concerned about it.
Oliver Mintzlaff left no doubt: the statements Toto Wolff has made about Max Verstappen are disrespectful. According to the CEO of Red Bull GmbH, the Mercedes team boss should be more concerned with his own team. After qualifying in Miami, Verstappen was asked about his boss's statements.
What Verstappen thinks of Brown and Wolff's statements
"At the end of the day, maybe that's his role too, right? The fact he shouts about that. But of course, there is more happening in the background than he says in the media. I talk to him quite a lot. For me, he came more into the picture after Dietrich's death. He is involved in numerous things, not just Formula 1. But of course, he gets involved in everything," Verstappen stated to De Telegraaf and others.
Verstappen tries not to worry so much about all the statements. Wolff and Brown are leaving no stone unturned. For example, Brown stated at Friday's press conference that he understood why someone like Adrian Newey left the team, hinting at everything that had happened around Christian Horner and that the team boss is still in office.
"For his part, I can understand it. Everyone pulls on our people. That's quite normal," stated Verstappen. According to Brown, he is getting plenty of CVs from people at Red Bull Racing, and Newey is unlikely to be the last to leave the team.
