British super-talent Lindblad on talks with Marko: 'Mostly positive'
- Nicole Mulder
Helmut Marko, as well as Christian Horner and Max Verstappen, have spoken highly of Red Bull Racing junior Arvid Lindblad. The still-only 16-year-old British super-talent made his debut in Formula 3 this year and has so far impressed there. Inevitable are talks with Marko, who oversees the Red Bull Junior Team. To GPblog and others, Lindblad tells how he experiences those talks.
Lindblad already has four wins and a second place to his name in F3, and that is in his first season in the racing class. Marko has spoken highly of the young racing talent on several occasions, but Verstappen and Horner also see Lindblad doing very well as a rookie.
Lindblad on talks with Marko
A much-discussed topic for all drivers belonging to the Red Bull family are the conversations with Helmut Marko, who often calls after race weekends to talk through the weekend. For Lindblad, those conversations are generally positive, something not every Red Bull talent can say.
"The last few weekends we've of had a meeting, normally on the Saturday or Sunday, just to discuss how things are going and stuff like this and in general it's been quite positive," Lindblad replied to a question from GPblog. Still, there are always areas for improvement for the Prema driver.
"Obviously, pointing out a few things still to work on, but in general, it's been quite good. There's not loads of communication, I have worked with Helmut, the boss, so you just kind of communicate with him on the weekends. But other than that, there's not much going on, just some updates and some feedback from his side. But other than that, I think [it's been] good."
