Perez doesn't appreciate youngster Lawson's behaviour: 'Should be humble!'
Sergio Perez had a frustrating home Grand Prix in Mexico City. One of the most difficult part was his battle against Liam Lawson, as after the two made contact, the Mexican driver's car was damaged. 'Checo' reacted to the fierce dual in the paddock, after he failed to score points, and he also gave some advice to the young VCARB driver.
"I think I don't have any relationship with him. I think the way he has come to Formula One, I don't think he has the right attitude for it. He needs to be a bit more humble. When a two-time world champion was saying things last weekend, he completely ignored him," Perez said in Mexico City, referring to Liam Lawson's previous feud with Fernando Alonso at the Circuit of the Americas during the Sprint event and then later in qualifying as well.
Red Bull's external advisor, Helmut Marko has partially apprectiated the way Lawson defended, however, following the race, he underlined that there has to be 'more respect' between Perez and Lawson, he told Viaplay. While Lawson showed the Mexican the middle finger, Perez called his rival an 'idiot' over the team radio.
Perez gives advice to Lawson
Perez believes Lawson is indeed a very talented driver, therefore his gave the New Zealander an advice. "It's like when you come to Formula One, you're obviously very hungry and so on, but you have to be as well respectful off track and on track. I don't think he's showing the right attitude to show a good case for himself, because I think he's a great driver, and I hope for him that he can step back and learn from it."
