Ferrari has launched their 2019 challenger, the first under Mattia Binotto's full control. Binotto stood alongside Sebastian Vettel and Charles Leclerc, who are the current drivers of the team, joined the new car at the launch.

The presentation lastest over 25 minutes as the audience was shown historical footage and exclusive interviews. Binotto spoke of how proud he was of the work carried out during a winter in which the team had to swallow a bitter pill.

The 2019 car was elevated through the floor and revealed.

The first pictures show Ferrari have opted for more narrow air vents, trying to improve aerodynamics as they look to topple Mercedes off their perch.

2018 season

Ferrari looked to be on top after Silverstone, and we all thought it would be a close battle until Abu Dhabi. But nope. They dropped off as the Italian's made tactical errors and Sebastian Vettel's off in Germany didn't help.

Maurizio Arrivabene took the stick and was shown the exit door as the team welcomed in 2019. Mattia Binotto comes in to replace Arrivabene. The duo was reported to have strong arguments.

Binnoto summed up the 2018 season with three words: "efficiency, power, people".

Naming

Ferrari has decided to honour the 90th birthday of Scuderia in the name of their car, hence the SF90. This was rumoured yesterday.
