First grid penalty of the Las Vegas Grand Prix weekend already handed out
Valtteri Bottas has received a grid penalty for the Las Vegas Grand Prix. An FIA document shows that his team have deployed his fourth energy store (ES) and will incur a grid penalty as a result.
Bottas is provisionally the only driver with a grid penalty. Despite the fact that many other drivers have replaced parts, Stake's driver is the only one who has exceeded the limit of a specific part and, therefore, receives a grid penalty.
The FIA list of new engine parts also shows that four drivers have new exhausts. Drivers are allowed to use eight exhausts in a year, a number that Sergio Perez, Alexander Albon, Liam Lawson and Yuki Tsunoda have yet to reach.
Besides a new exhaust, Lawson also has a new gearbox for the weekend in Vegas. It is his fourth gearbox, which Lawson is still allowed to fit in his car by regulation without incurring a penalty.
