Newey's comment to make Verstappen and Red Bull worry?

Talking to Auto, Motor und Sport, master designer Adrian Newey talked about his previous team, Red Bull Racing, and last season. Over the 2024 season, it was announced that the Briton will now join Aston Martin, where he will start working in March. Looking back at last season, Newey commented: "From what I can see from the outside, but I don’t know, the guys at Red Bull – this is no criticism – I think they just, perhaps through lack of experience, kept going in that same direction." Should the Austrians worry about Newey's verdict?

On the other hand, Red Bull did receive some positive news, as the RB21 passed the FIA's crash test. Reportedly, the Austrian's filming day also seems to be known, as Max Verstappen and Liam Lawson will drive the car in Bahrain on 25 February.

Herbert's new job

After it was announced by the FIA that Johnny Herbert will no longer be a steward because of how his role of judging the drivers and team is 'incompatible' with being a media pundit, the former driver reacted to what happened on Instagram. Herbert's will now also take on a new role at Lola, where he will become their Formula E programme's ambassador. The Briton will have multiple roles. First, he will help help strengthen the brand as a leader in sustainable engineering and motorsport, focusing on the following three areas: electrification, hydrogen and renewable fuels and materials. Moreover, he will also work directly with sponsors and customers as well.

Hamilton on Ferrari challenge

The blockbuster transfer took place this season: After spending more than a decade with Mercedes, Hamilton has now joined Ferrari. The seven-time world champion talked to Martin Brundle about the upcoming year. "It's a much, much different culture and I don't truly know what to expect, but I have raced in Italy, so I expect it to be a huge amount different but special and unique in some way," the Briton explained on Sky Sports.

Meanwhile, Red Bull team principal Christian Horner and Mercedes team principal Toto Wolff also reacted to Hamilton's first days as a Ferrari driver, and the photos taken of the world champion in the famous red racing suit.

Oakes exclusive and McLaren complete Pirelli tyre tests

Today, GPblog has published the third part of our exclusive interview with Alpine team principal Oliver Oakes. The Briton talked about embracing the opportunity at Alpine, what he enjoys about his current job, and also being a team principal as a former driver himself.

At the Paul Ricard track in France, McLaren completed the second day of testing Pirelli's wet weather tyres for the 2026 season. After Oscar Piastri was behind the steering wheel on Wednesday, today, it was Lando Norris' turn, as the Briton completed 123 laps in the 2A layout.
