Max Verstappen's schedule for the winter test in Bahrain has changed. Instead of him, his new teammate Liam Lawson will take the wheel for Red Bull Racing during the previously planned session. Verstappen will now be on track all day Friday instead of Thursday.
Red Bull changes Verstappen's test schedule in Bahrain
Contrary to earlier reports, Liam Lawson will now handle the morning session on Wednesday, February 26, with Max Verstappen taking over in the afternoon. On Thursday, Lawson will be behind the wheel for the entire day, while Verstappen will take on a full day of running on Friday. This revised schedule was reported by PlanetF1.com. The winter test in Bahrain lasts three days, with each day divided into two sessions: a morning and an afternoon. The morning sessions run from 07:00 to 11:00 GMT followed by a one-hour break. The afternoon sessions take place from 12:00 to 16:00 GMT.
Verstappen and Lawson Red Bull shakedown
On Tuesday, the day before winter testing begins, Verstappen and Lawson will take Red Bull’s RB21 out for its first laps during a filming day at the Bahrain International Circuit. This shakedown will give the drivers an initial feel for the 2025 car before the official three-day test, where Red Bull will gain a clearer understanding of its competitiveness.
