Tanabe: "Verstappen delivered a strong performance as usual"

After qualifying for the Spanish Grand Prix, Honda was again in the top ten with three of their cars. This makes them the best engine supplier after Mercedes and they should be satisfied with that. Toyoharu Tanabe is very positive afterwards, although of course it could have been even better.
“Three out of four cars in the top ten is not a bad result and Max delivered a strong performance as usual to secure his highest ever grid position at this race. In the other Aston Martin Red Bull Racing car, Alex’s sixth place means he can expect to have a good race tomorrow, as can Pierre in the AlphaTauri starting from tenth.”
Kvyat could be in top ten too
The only one missing was Daniil Kvyat, but because the midfield was so extremely close to each other it wouldn't have made much difference. In the warm race at Silverstone the drivers of Red Bull Racing and AlphaTauri came out well during the race and Tanabe is hopeful that this time it can happen again.
"In fact, Daniil was unlucky to miss out on Q3 by a very small margin, but he has a free choice of tyre for the start, which could be significant here. We hope therefore that all four cars can score points tomorrow, when conditions will again be tough for everyone with very high temperatures. So we will now work with both our teams to prepare for the race as well as possible."
