Sergio Perez became the fifth different driver to win a race in 2020 and added 25 points to his points haul. As a result, the Mexican moves up to fourth place in the championship. This was by no means the only shift in the table after the Sakhir GP.

No change in the top three

Lewis Hamiton has been holding the world title for some time now, so despite not being able to make it to Bahrain, his first place was no longer in danger. With eighth place for Valtteri Bottas, the Finn can add four points, which he really needs in the battle for P2. Max Verstappen did not score and must at least finish second in Abu Dhabi to claim second place at all. Then Bottas is not allowed to score points.

Compete for fourth place

Perez overtakes Daniel Ricciardo in the battle for P4 and has a 13 point lead. For Charles Leclerc, who is now sixth, fourth place has now become unattainable. Because he scored no points and Carlos Sainz took a decent fourth place, the two only save one point with one race to go.

Despite the second place of Esteban Ocon, he does not gain places in the standings. His total now comes to 60. Lance Stroll overtakes Pierre Gasly and enters the top 10 by finishing third. George Russell has finally gotten rid of the hateful zero after almost two seasons, although he had hoped for more than three points.
