Fernando Alonso has said that the F1 should be making more of an effort to make races more spectacular, as yellow flags and Virtual Safety Cars aren't good on the eye.
The Spaniard was forced to retire from the Monaco Grand Prix as he had problems with his gearbox, but that didn't stop him from observing that it was a very boring race overall.
"This might have been the most boring race ever," he told Motorsport.com.
"Without Safety Car and yellow flags.
"The sport has to think about the spectacle more because this was very disappointing.
"The fans have to get something in return to get value for their money."
The two-time champion lays the blame on the track, rather than on the very wide cars.
"It's simply boring when there's no Safety Car.
"We start from our qualifying position and drive there until the finish."
