What a shame it would be to lose Force India from the world of Formula One, and
Ross Brawn agrees. Force India have become a big name in the sport and have participated since 2008.
They have finished fourth in the constructors’ standings in the past two seasons, but it hasn’t been enough to secure their future, with a messy takeover in progress.
The team entered administration before the Hungarian Grand Prix, allowing the team to continue competing for the time being.
Force India have been a reliable source of an unexpected result in past years, with Sergio Perez climbing onto the podium plenty of times, including at this year’s Azerbaijan Grand Prix, where the Mexican secured third place in a dramatic race.
The team sits sixth in this year’s constructors’ standings and Ross Brawn, motorsport director of F1 has shown his support for the team.
“Formula 1 will be doing all in its power to ensure the team survives and I truly hope that in the coming days and weeks its future is resolved,” he said.
“Over the past few years the Silverstone-based team has been an amazing example of what can be done with limited resources, showing that what you do and how you do it is much more important than the size of your budget.”
