Damon Hill believes
Liam Lawson will be selected to become
Max Verstappen's teammate next season. While the Briton himself would rather sign a different driver to
Red Bull Racing, he does not see that happening.

Franco Colapinto's name has also been thrown into the hat at Red Bull given recent rumours, but others claim
Sergio Perez will simply complete his contract at the Austrian team. Hill believes however if Perez were to be replaced, Red Bull would opt for
Liam Lawson instead of
Yuki Tsunoda or the aforementioned Colapinto.
"I would have put Carlos Sainz there but that is not going to happen, so I think it is Liam Lawson, almost certainly, because they have got experience of him," Hill began to
Sky Sports. "This is where you get into the murky world of, there may be some big money and, if that is the case, then it could be Colapinto. But I think he is a little bit inexperienced so you might see him at RB." Juan Pablo Montoya also advised the Milton Keynes-based team to try to sign Sainz, but
Christian Horner has denied that the Spaniard is an option for them for the 2025 season.
"There's always plenty of speculation in the Formula One paddock. And Carlos Sainz is going to be a Williams driver next year. He's a great driver. Had a big win in Mexico recently. And I think he'll be very good for that team. Carlos is committed to Williams. And he wouldn't form part of our plans for next year," the Red Bull team principal told
talkSport.
