After the conclusion of qualifying, Nico Hülkenberg's flying lap in Q1 has been deleted by the stewards. As a result, the driver was now relegated to P16 on the grid.
Nico Hülkenberg should not have qualified for Q2 at the Bahrain International Circuit. However, that was only realised by the stewards after the session has been concluded for exceeding track limits.
As a result, the German did participate in Q2, where he finished in P13. Now, he will start from three positions further back. The stewards explained that the track limits notification arrived only when the cars were already on track in the second session.
As this decision was also made after the sessions, this prevented Alexander Albon from participating in Q2. Albon's teammate, Carlos Sainz, also managed to qualify for Q3 this evening in Sakhir.
