The Alpha Tauri is not quite a great car. But improvement does not come quickly. Pierre Gasly has confirmed that the AlphaTauri team will make updates before October, or at best not before the Singapore Grand Prix.
The AlphaTauri team waited several races before introducing a major update for the French Grand Prix held at the Paul Ricard circuit in Le Castellet in July. But after two Grands Prix, it appears that the situation hasn't improved much. Gasly and teammate Yuki Tsunoda have a lack of speed.
"We are going to try and get as many points as possible. It is certain that this year, it is very complicated at the moment, we do not have the hoped for performance. We know it is more difficult than last season. We lack speed, there are many teams that have progressed. We will have to keep working with the team," Gasly explained to F1Only.fr.
Small updates will undoubtedly come, but whether these will really make progress? "Normally there will be more around October.... In the meantime we will try to do as much as possible with this car."
