Brendon Hartley is set to receive yet another grid penalty as his team and engine supplier Honda have decided to replace his engine before the race, meaning he'll now start from last yet again.
The Kiwi already qualified on the back row, which is why Honda thought they barely had anything to lose. All power unit components of Hartley's car will be replaced, which will drop him down one single spot on the grid, but gives him a fresh new engine, Honda communicated via their Twitter account.
Hartley already communicated that the reason for his poor qualifying is because he had to do it with an old front wing, which cost him a few tenths of a second. He ended up with P19 in Q1, with only the Sauber of Marcus Ericsson behind him.
The entirely new power unit might prove to be effective. And not only for today's race, but in the coming races as well. In theory, he could be using this power unit for the next seven races. Let's see how he gets on today!
