Mattia Binotto reacted to
Max Verstappen's victory after the
Miami Grand Prix in disappointment. In doing so, the
Ferrari team boss criticized
Red Bull Racing.
Helmut Marko thinks Binotto's position is unjustified, he tells in conversation with
F1insider.com.
Whereas Ferrari had an excellent start at the beginning of the season, Red Bull managed to catch up with its competitor in recent weeks. This was partly due to the updates that the Austrian racing team implemented at lightning speed, which enabled Verstappen in particular to make rapid progress.
Marko is convinced of Red Bull way forward
Binotto finds Red Bull's progress remarkable, to say the least, and therefore openly questioned this weekend whether the competitor will meet the budget ceiling. Marko argues that his team will 'just' comply with the regulations and that Binotto's statements are therefore unjustified.
"Ferrari and we are on an equal footing," Marko explicitly states.
"The difference in the future will be who gets the best out of the package on the respective race track. We continue to look forward to the big fight and have full confidence in the FIA to ensure that everything goes according to the rules."
