Sergio Perez confirms Force India's first double points scoring of the season resulted in a "positive day" for the team on their 200th outing.
Perez finished seventh, just one place behind his French team-mate Esteban Ocon meaning the Silverstone based team took home 14 points.
The pink panthers didn't have the best of Saturday's as Perez surprisingly didn't make it into Q2. Ocon started the comeback just missing out on Q3 in 11th.
"It's been a really positive day for the team," said Perez in an interview on chequered flag.
"We have come away with important points from a weekend that was quite challenging in the lead up to the race. Starting from P15 [after penalties] on the grid and finishing seventh is a great effort and we should be proud of this achievement."
The result means Force India are now clear of Toro Rosso in the constructors' championship. Heading to Silverstone for the British Grand Prix, they're knocking on the door of McLaren as they're just two points behind.
They join Haas on both of their milestone weekends as big winners from the Austrian race. All of a sudden, the team have something much bigger to aim for in 2018. Was it just a one-off lucky fluke for Force India, or do they actually have some serious pace following upgrades? Let us know in the comments!
