Sergio Perez does feel strongly about a sprint race format with a 'reversed grid'. The journalist could hardly believe him, but the Mexican really thinks that is a good plan for the future.

Whereas Lando Norris wants little involvement in the future because he feels people won't listen anyway, Max Verstappen did have a very clear opinion. The Dutchman would like to get rid of sprint racing. Perez is not on the same wavelength as his teammate in this respect, as he does have some adjustments in store.

Perez is full of surprises

"If they want to keep this format of sprint races, we're going to [need to] change it. I would propose a reverse grid, something like that, to make it more interesting for the fans, because I don't think it's working what we want to achieve. Nothing really happens in these sorts of races," Perez said at the press conference.

Tom Clarkson, the Formula One reporter, can hardly believe Perez saying this and asks, just to be sure, if Perez would really want this. "Yeah, I think it will mix up things and create more opportunities, a lot more overtaking. If we want to keep this format, give it a go on something quite different because I think for the last two years, this sort of event hasn't brought a lot of good racing," concluded Verstappen's teammate.
