Williams have already extended the contract of
Alexander Albon, but
Nicholas Latifi 's future remains uncertain. Logan Sargeant is one of the drivers named to succeed the Canadian. Sargeant does not rule out taking the plunge after this year's F2 campaign, although he realises he will have to perform well himself first. He told
Racer.
The talented American is third in the
Formula 2 standings with 119 points. With 61 points behind leader Felipe Drugovich, a title is unlikely, but he remains focused on what is to come.
Sargeant has already impressed and
Williams is reportedly interested in signing him. While it remains to be seen whether the team will act, he says in the interview that he is not unwilling to take the plunge.
"You never know," he says. "The sole focus has to be to deliver in F2. If the results aren’t there then it makes it quite difficult. All I can do is stay concentrated on this tripleheader that’s coming up in a few weeks, then you never know."
Sargeant focused for F2 season finale
The youngster finds that Formula 2 demands a lot from him and is therefore keen to develop further. "You definitely can’t slack at this level, My aim has to be to be looking for more poles and extremely strong feature races."
