Every team on the F1 grid have experienced many ups and downs across the first part of the season. There's been plenty going on this year, perhaps already more than the last two put together! So to refresh your mind, we take you through a summary of 2018 so far! Part 2 will feature; Ferrari, Force India and Williams.

Mercedes

The Silver Arrows have somehow managed to cling on to the top spot in both championships. Apart from Lewis Hamilton's pole lap in Australia, they struggled to get going. It actually took until Azerbaijan before Mercedes won their first race.
The form then dipped again, and by Austria, we knew for definite that they no longer had the quickest car. A double retirement due to mechanical issues ended their hopes of winning the Austrian Grand Prix and kick-started serious head scratching in Brackley.
Damage limitation was the new buzzword for Mercedes from Silverstone onwards. But with some weather help and Vettel's mistakes, the German team managed to win two out of the last three races.

Haas

It really did all start in Australia for Haas. They were looking oh so promising! But a double retirement due to a pit-stop error ended the dream. And it was issues like this which plagued the team dearly over the first part of the year.
Romain Grosjean made plenty of silly errors, many resulting in crashes which ended his race. His team-mate, Kevin Magnussen was picking up a steady flow of points. Steiner insisted both cars should get into the top 10.
Grosjean's confidence sprung back. In Austria, the pair finished 4th and 5th. In the weeks leading up to the summer break, they've closed the gap on their rival team, Renault, as they look to push for fourth place.

Sauber

They've been so much better this season! Wow! They've got shining youngster Charles Leclerc who gets that Sauber car into Q3 on a regular basis.
The Ferrari engine improvements over the second quarter of the season have got them where they are. Having scored so little points last year, they could be deemed as the most improved.
They have been closing down Toro Rosso in recent weeks, but their strong finish in Hungary opened the gap a little bit further.
