Mercedes once again did good business at the
Spanish Grand Prix. They seemed to have a small lead over
Red Bull Racing all weekend but had to come up with a clever strategy to beat
Max Verstappen, and they did.
Mercedes pulls ahead of Red Bull Racing again
With a first place from
Lewis Hamilton and a third place from
Valtteri Bottas, the Mercedes team takes home 40 points.
Red Bull Racing has to make do with 29 points, earned by
Max Verstappen's second place and
Sergio Perez's fifth.
Mercedes are once again ahead of Red Bull Racing, continuing the pattern of scoring 10 to 12 points after each race. The German team is currently leading the championship with 141 points, followed by Red Bull Racing with 112 points.
Behind them there is a close battle for third place:
McLaren are currently third with 65 points, but are being closely followed by Ferrari, who are fourth with 60 points. Behind
Ferrari Alpine and AlphaTauri are fighting for fifth place, they are on 15 and 10 points respectively. Aston Martin is the last team to score points this season, and are in seventh place.
