In every single practice session, Mercedes seemed well off the pace compared to Red Bull and Ferrari. But it is the German team who lock out the front row of the grid in Hungary. Hamilton will start the race from pole tomorrow.

Team Principal Toto Wolff recognised how lucky his team got with the wet conditions in qualifying.

"We really had a lot of luck here. Nobody knows how it would have been otherwise, but on the rain tyres, we clearly had the best car," Toto Wolff told Speedweek.

Wolff is well aware that rain is not forecast for the race tomorrow as he works out a plan to keep the Red Ferrari's behind.

"On Sunday the worries stay there, as we lose a lot of time on the straight parts to Ferrari. For now, they have the best package, both the engine and the chassis are better. We can only hope to be able to finish far enough ahead at the beginning of the race,"

For the other big teams, the rain provided bad luck. Red Bull struggled to find any speed at all with Ricciardo failing to make it into Q2. Max Verstappen finished 7th fastest finishing behind a Toro Rosso!

We have another fantastic Grand Prix on our hands tomorrow!
