Yuki Tsunoda caused a stir during the first free practice session with an unusual moment in the pit lane. As he came in to return to his pit box, the Japanese driver drove straight past his own Red Bull garage. The team quickly got on the radio to alert him to the mistake. Tsunoda promptly apologized and corrected the error by coming back around and stopping at the correct pit box on the following lap.

Tsunoda enters second Red Bull Racing weekend

The Japanese driver apologised to his team after driving past the pit box. "Oh yeah, sorry," he said before returning to the pits.

This is Yuki Tsunoda’s second race weekend driving for Red Bull Racing. Initially, Liam Lawson started the season alongside Max Verstappen. However, after just two races in Formula 1, Lawson’s time with Red Bull's main team came to an abrupt end. He was demoted back to the Red Bull junior team, making way for Tsunoda to step up to the senior squad. This weekend, an all-Japanese lineup was fielded in FP1, with Ayumu Iwasa replacing Max Verstappen for FP1.
