Yuki Tsunoda is in his first season in Formula 1. Where he started his debut season excellently in Bahrain, he has been disappointing in many races so far. The Japanese rider knows he has to do better.

During the season the youngster had to deal with a lot of criticism from the in- and outside world. Helmut Marko spoke out several times about the unnecessary risks Tsunoda sometimes took during free practice, causing him to drive off track several times.

Learning process of Tsunoda

Tsunoda is apparently coping well with the criticism, as the driver tried to learn from those parts. "I tried to calm down for those moments when I have to be aggressive," the driver explained to Motorsport.com explained. "For example, I was too aggressive sometimes in the first five race days. Of course, in the race, as soon as I got the confidence, I tried to be aggressive and came back to the normal style. But yeah, I changed a little bit my approach for that."

For now, the AlphaTauri driver is in thirteenth place in the world championship, but Tsunoda is hoping to get more points soon. "The target is simple, almost simple, but I need more consistency for the race result, which is getting points every race week."
