Max Verstappen is not happy with the way things went at the start of the
Hungarian Grand Prix. The Dutchman had to give second place back to
Lando Norris after overtaking the
McLaren driver at the start off of the track.
Verstappen furious after Norris
Verstappen had a good start from third place and went around the outside of the McLarens at the first corner. Norris lost the lead to teammate
Oscar Piastri, but also had to deal with Verstappen on the outside. In the process, he overtook Norris while driving off the track.
Norris, who was in P3, immediately complained about Verstappen over
McLaren's board radio. Verstappen initially refused to give the spot back, but when the incident was investigated by the stewards he was told that he had to do so.
This led to an angry Verstappen.
"Okay, so you can just drive people off the track? Just tell the FIA that from now on we are going to race that way, by just driving people off the track," he fumed over the onboard radio
