Max Verstappen will have a point to prove in Canada after another disappointing Grand Prix in Monaco where he finished ninth, and the Dutchman has stated that he's confident that he will do so next weekend.
Verstappen analyzed the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve, knowing what the critical points of the track are.
"The brakes cool off because of the straight, you head into the chicane with a lot of speed," he explained on his own website, Verstappen.nl.
"It's important to decide the braking point well to position yourself perfectly.
"I think the biggest danger will be at the wall after the chicane - even if you just touch the wall, you get damage to your tyre or wheel."
The three-time Grand Prix winner had a lightning start in Canada last season as he took P2 from Sebastian Vettel at the very start of the race. However, the race ended with a typical technical problem after ten laps.
"I began very strongly but I had to park my car on the side of the road after ten laps because of a technical issue," he remembers.
"I expect our car to be good enough to compete at the top in Montréal.
"I can't wait to be in Canada, because the atmosphere and the people there are really amazing."
