Max Verstappen has finished in P5 in the third free practice session leading up qualifying at the Suzuka Circuit. The Dutchman was still not completely satisfied with his car.

Towards the end of the session, the defending world champion voiced his opinion on where things stand in terms of his setup over the team radio.

"Yeah, picked up a bit of front but at the same time, I'm also losing the rear now," he told his race engineer Gianpiero Lambiase. He in change asked whether Verstappen wants to make a change. "Let us know if you'd like to compensate with diff."

That would mean a change to how freely the rear wheels would spin in corners.

Verstappen continued: "It's all over the shop, because in some corners it's not too bad and... yeah, then it becomes again undriveable."

"Ok, that's useful," 'GP' concluded.

The Dutchman would hope the team can work on this ahead of qualifying, after the McLarens once again finished in P1 and P2 in FP3, in the order of Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri. Verstappen will also investigated for not following the race director's instructions ahead of the next session.
