Red Bull's
Max Verstappen took fourth place in the qualifying round with both Ferrari's and one Mercedes ahead of him, but the Dutchman likes his chances to do really well in tomorrow's race.
Verstappen had the third best time in Q3 early but eventually ended fourth after spending some time in the pitlane before coming out again in the final minutes. He was on pace to overtake one or two of the Ferrari's, but a mistake in the final sector of his lap cost him dearly.
Red Bull's hope was to be within half a second of Mercedes in qualifying and to then bridge the gap with long-run pace in actual Grand Prix. Although the gap with Ferrari is minimal, the difference between the Bulls and Mercedes is still too much, Verstappen argues.
"Mercedes gave it a little extra at the end there," the Dutchman said.
"That's nice in qualifying, but I can't see them doing that during a race."
"Our long runs have looked promising, so that gives us a lot of hope for sure."
"We certainly have a chance to beat Ferrari, we're very close to them already."
