Sebastian Vettel has said that the Virtual Safety Car has become an issue for the F1, as everyone finds a way to exploit it for their own merit, rather than it just being a regulator during a race.
Vettel did it himself in Melbourne, as he pitted during the VSC to take the lead back from Lewis Hamilton. Now that he tried it again and it backfired, he's quick to criticize it.
"In theory the VSC works, because the effect is the same for everyone," he explained to Autosport.
"The FIA gives us a certain time we have to limit ourselves to, which means we have to lower our pace by a certain percentage.
"Everyone knows that you can exploit that by choosing the shortest way possible and shortening the distance you cover that way.
Vettel thinks that the VSC should be replaced because of that.
"At least a system where this wouldn't be possible anymore."
Fair criticism from the German? Or is this too harsh on the FIA?
