Red Bull Racing is not on the same page as McLaren when it comes to tyre wear. They seem to have a real issue with it on the race weekend. Do Pirelli's choices play a role in this? Max Verstappen answers! In Japan, the RB21 was in a sweet spot with the car behaving. Unfortunately, the same can not be said for the Bahrain Grand Prix. Verstappen stated in a conversation with GPblog and others what the reason is. "Here, the surface is completely different. The tyres play an even bigger role. And normally, our car in the very high-speed corners is quite a bit more stable. But here there are a lot more other factors that come into play."
Is Pirelli's choice a major drawback for Verstappen and Red Bull?
With Tyre wear being one of Red Bull Racing's problem this year, it could be a negtive thing for them that Pirelli have opted to use a softer tyre in Saudi Arabia than they did las year.
When asked if it could hurt them, he said, "Yeah, let's see. It will be a bit unknown, I guess."
Verstappen has a good history at the Heddah Corniche Circuit as he has never finished lower than second place. Can he do the same this year and keep his third place in the championship?
