Hours after the all-decisive
Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, the word is out:
Max Verstappen retains his first ever world title. That meant a big sigh of relief for
Red Bull Racing, whose team boss
Christian Horner was able to congratulate his star driver for the second time.
Amid great interest from the media, Horner returned to his team, where Verstappen was waiting for him. What followed was a firm hug and a visibly relieved world champion, who can now continue the party with his team.
The case may yet get a tailwind, because it seems that Mercedes will not leave it at that. Toto Wolff was furious and did not appear in front of the press afterwards. The same goes for
Lewis Hamilton. The team has one hour to appeal the decisions of the stewards.
