Advice for F1 teams: 'Watch yourself, because Red Bull is unstoppable'

Max Verstappen and Red Bull Racing appear to be the favourites for the 2023 titles. Sky Sports' Martin Brundle urges the other F1 teams to pay particular attention to their own development. Red Bull will be unstoppable this season.

The cars created by the teams for 2023 have not changed as dramatically as last year. As a result, it seems a little less difficult to predict what the ranking will look like this year. At Sky Sports F1 Red Bull is expected to have the best car and Max Verstappen, a two-time world champion, is expected to be the driver to beat.

Red Bull is unstoppable

That makes it difficult for the rest. Brundle hints: "You can't control the performance of any other team or driver so you have to control your own performance. And improve it. You always start with the aerodynamics, especially on these latest cars. The changes for 2023, having to lift the car up, and bigger mirrors and things like that. It's an evolution not a revolution."

The same is true at Red Bull, but they will mostly look behind them: "Max [Verstappen] has got talent to spare, confidence to spare, the team are loving being in garage one as the reigning champions. I think they are on a high. All you can do is sort yourself out because you will not slow these guys down."

It will be clear after 5-6 GPs, if there is a obvious favorite. For now anything is possible, only a fool will hand over the WDC/WCC before the season started. From the test we have seen nothing of the true potential of the (top) teams.

I certainly hope brundle is wrong. I do not look forward to another boring year with Max leading a parade of uncompetitive cars. I would much rather see a battle between at least three teams.

Agree. I want to see Alonzo race Lewis with a competative car. Max won't be the only one shunted off the track.

Dont for 1 second think the bromance between Alonso and max will last in equal cars. Alonso is a dark horse this season.

F1HotFan 28 February 2023 at 18:12+ 7334

There is a difference between Bromance and Respect. They understand what it is like to drive and in Max's case win in a car that is not far far superior to others. Lewis is now learning that lesson but has a hard time with it, hence his attempt to push cars off the track rather than driving around them. I think Alonzo and Max respect each other's skills better than Lewis does so your perception of a Bromance comes from not understanding the character of each driver. Thats why you are a Lewis fan. Will there be close racing if AM gets their act together yes, but Alonso or Max will never pull a potentially deadly stunt like Silverstone 21'. It's not in their nature or character.

Wow you showed me. NOT! No one is whining, simply stating facts about character. Lewis lost a lot of fans (including myself) because of his lack of character. That is his big handicap now. He will continue into 2023 with more antics like shoving racers off of the track and the FIA will continue to ignore or downplay. The Sh*t will hit the fan if someone gets seriously injured.

Bromance.....let's see
how they behave when it's all to play for...on the track...in the real world...with P1 on the line....neither is known for yielding so...if AM is that good this year...could get interesting

Oh for fark sakes. Spare me the lecture. I wasnt talking about Hamilton, crashing or silverstone.

Stop whining and move on. Get over it same way we have to get over 21.

I was referring to Alonso wanting a 3rd title more than Max. I was also referring to their well document love and respect for each other.

You painting both to be some sort of racing angels of divine being who sends hugs down into turn 1, then farting rainbows down the main straights...!? You being serious mate?

I've seen both having crisis of character in sticky situations...more than once, to be honest.

I cannot debate this topic with you if the entire premise of your argument is invalid.

I'll wait for Qualifying instead of speculating who is fastest.
RedBull and Ferrari were within a tenth of each other at Bahrain last year after all the talk of RedBull being ahead.
Just because their car looked planted on a green track one week doesn't mean it will behave the same over a race weekend. The others will surely find some balance before Q3 on Saturday.

All the talks?
Who was saying that RB is ahead of Ferrari during or after Bahrain 2022 testing? No one knew anything for certain.
But people were assuming that Ferrari and RB will be the ones to beat, based on testing.
How wrong were they? RB did won a race right after and they had really smooth season.
Ferrari also had a fast car but after summer break they dropped performance, maybe they were really messing with that floor flexibility.
But testing does matter and can show a lot.
You just have to run at least one low fuel-soft tires lap.
Cars are new or heavily upgraded

The 1st race will bring out the truth. RB look strong but I wouldn't rule out Ferrari.

Still, RB has always been a great team. They lacked a good engine in the hybrid era until Honda arrived.

Brundle is not wrong the Redbull package is frightening fast. They have manged to build a car, they say is also gonna put Pérez in the fight. Its a fool that doesn't say Redbull are season favorites right now .
